-

-

-
Rainy Days: Wooden structures get slippery when wet. If rain is forecast later in the day, we recommend arriving early. If it rained the day prior to your visit, please be aware that wood work may still be wet and slippery. However, there will still be plenty of ground-level fun and quizzes available even if it rains.
We request that you do not take food to the forest, as there is no hand washing in this area. We also request that only food purchased at the coffee shop is eaten inside or outside the coffee shop. We do have a large picnic area next to the main car park, where there are a few picnic benches. Please do bring your own picnic rugs and seating if you have any, just in case all the picnic benches are in use.
Dogs on short leads are welcome in the Forest Adventure and across the site. We do ask that all dog owners are mindful that other customers on site may not like dogs. We have a dog poo bin located in the car park.

Carers – please see information in accessibility/on our FAQs page.
SEASON TICKETS – We are not currently offering Forest Adventure season tickets.
PUSHCHAIRS & WHEELCHAIRS – we are often asked whether the Forest Adventure is suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs. There is a special gate for wheeled vehicles to the left of the main entrance bridge. Once inside, the main paths are fairly hard and covered with woodchip, but they are not tarmac/concrete. It all depends on the pushchair/wheelchair, but we find that the more rugged pushchairs are easily wheeled around the wood, as are lighter wheelchairs. Some paths and equipment are not accessible, but there is access to all the quiz stations and you can leave you pushchair in the wood (at your own risk) if that suits you. Obviously after heavy rain/in the colder months there may be mud/puddles – do ring for an update
We offer a 100% Carer’s Discount on production of a Durham carers card, Max card or similar proof together with photographic ID. Put simply we offer a free ticket for a carer when accompanying one full priced ticket holder. May not be used with other special offers. Please buy your other tickets online and then bring proof that you are a carer together with ID and we will make sure you get a free ticket.
Some of the paths may be muddy and that wooden bridges and play equipment can be extremely slippery when wet. For your protection please wear sturdy shoes such as walking boots/trainers and sensible outdoor clothing with long sleeves and trousers rather than shorts/dresses – as these will help prevent prickles and scratches. Flip flops and similar shoes are NOT recommended. For extra fun dress in your best woodland camouflage gear!
DOGS! Friendly dogs are welcome in the Playfield, Forest Adventure and Coffee Shop but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please take your poo bags home with you.

Best breakfast in the North East
Super place! The cafe has good food, good coffee and exceptionally lovely staff! And the shop is brilliant- best bacon and sausages I’ve ever had. Smuggling some home to Shetland, although Jane says they will post them up…. I’ll be checking that out for sure!
Outstanding breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection and the bacon butter used in some of the cooking and on the sourdough bread is delicious. Served speedily and with smiles. Loved it!
We’ve been meaning to try this place for ages so the summer holidays was a perfect time to try…don’t know what I was expecting by it was so much better!! Absolutely loved it! We are at 11.30am and didn’t leave till nearly 4pm!! The forest adventure was brilliant – nice to be able to walk around but also have activities for the children to do in between walking so they aren’t bored. Ours loved the zip wires and the cars the most. Not to mention the little trail finding the animal baby names too. We had dinner which was lovely – the lady who served us was so friendly and helpful. Again, well catered for the children as we are outside so the children could jump on the hay bales whilst they waited for dinner instead of sitting about. More time in the forest adventure then ice creams before a look in the farm shop and home. Absolutely loved it – couldn’t recommend it enough. Thank you to everyone – we will definitely be back!
We did our 8 year old son birthday party at the adventure forest at Broom House farm. I definitely recommend booking a party there and in general going there. The place is amazing, the kids lived it. The staff are very helpful and lovely. Last but not least, the food was super. The quality of the food as well.
Top notch meat tea rooms and great place for kids and set in countryside
Super value, the forest adventure was well thought out and kids loved it. Food in the cafe was excellent and the farm shop well stocked. An excellent way to shop and support farmers.
Best full english in the North East by my meticulous records.
Had an amazing time at Broom House Farm Forest Adventure. We’ve been twice in the summer holidays and it is well worth the hours drive. The children (& grown ups) loved it especially the sleds and zip lines. It’s really well thought out and kept the children entertained all day.
