We are now competing against fellow winners from across Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and other English regions. The Farm Shop is very well stocked and is open Tuesdays-Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Broom House Farm Shop is at the centre of our organic farm in the Browney Valley overlooking Durham City, just 6 miles to the west of the cathedral. The farm has been registered as organic with Organic Farmers & Growers (FA002017) since 2005. We breed and rear our own 100% pure Aberdeen Angus beef, lamb, mutton and rare breed British Saddleback pork, hams, sausages and bacon and all beef and lamb is grass fed. This is the place to shop if you value the best flavoured beef, lamb and pork in Durham!
Our beef is dry aged for 21+ days and prepared with great attention to detail by our craft butchers.
Our beef and lamb are 100% organic and 100% grass fed, but we do not have an organic butchery licence so it’s not labelled organic in the Farm Shop.

If you would like to phone your order ahead we can offer “toot and collect” this means we can offer you a completely contact free service 01913718839. When you phone we can let you know what stock we have – there’s so much more than just meat! We can help with prices and suggest a collection time – same day is usually possible. You then drive up here to our green door collection point and open your boot, remaining at a safe distance. We put your shopping into your car and you can then check it, close your boot and drive home. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be answering the phone, sorry. Farm Shop Butchery Counter
We will have most products available everyday, although our fresh organic poultry is delivered on Tuesdays. Please do ring with any special orders and also if you would like to reserve some of our most popular cuts, such as fillet steak, lambs liver, brisket…. as we only sell our own meat we have a limited supply and run out of various cuts from time to time depending on demand.

This place is a little gem, lovely day out for the family. Cake is good, coffee is lovely breakfast is great. Plus I was struggling with 2 kids and dropped my cakes all over, they replaced the straight away which was really kind. Will keep going back.
Fantastic place for ages from toddler to teen. Woods with play grounds and slides and trails to explore. Picnics are welcome but in a set area. Still good in the rain just will need wellies we have been in all weathers and have had season ticket for 2 years now. Safe area for kids to explore and small play are close to coffe shop so kids can play and adults can relax with some amazing cakes and food with some lovely coffee.
I have visited Broom House Farm a few times now and I have always been delighted with the food, coffee and service. I especially love the Burgers with the sautéed potatoes and slaw.
