The Farm Shop is very well stocked and is open Tuesdays-Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Broom House Farm Shop is at the centre of our organic farm in the Browney Valley overlooking Durham City, just 6 miles to the west of the cathedral. The farm has been registered as organic with Organic Farmers & Growers (FA002017) since 2005. We breed and rear our own 100% pure Aberdeen Angus beef, lamb, mutton and rare breed British Saddleback pork, hams, sausages and bacon and all beef and lamb is grass fed. This is the place to shop if you value the best flavoured beef, lamb and pork in Durham!
Our beef is dry aged for 21+ days and prepared with great attention to detail by our craft butchers.
Our beef and lamb are 100% organic and 100% grass fed, but we do not have an organic butchery licence so it’s not labelled organic in the Farm Shop.
The Farm Shop page will help you with our meat prices, please ring 0191 3718839 or use the contact form to get in touch. The Farm Shop sells a wide range of complementary and local products, including organic milk and butter, cheese, vegetables, beers, honey, cards and unusual gifts.
If you would like to phone your order ahead we can offer “toot and collect” this means we can offer you a completely contact free service 01913718839. When you phone we can let you know what stock we have – there’s so much more than just meat! We can help with prices and suggest a collection time – same day is usually possible. You then drive up here to our green door collection point and open your boot, remaining at a safe distance. We put your shopping into your car and you can then check it, close your boot and drive home. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be answering the phone, sorry. Farm Shop Butchery Counter
We will have most products available everyday, although our fresh organic poultry is delivered on Tuesdays. Please do ring with any special orders and also if you would like to reserve some of our most popular cuts, such as fillet steak, lambs liver, brisket…. as we only sell our own meat we have a limited supply and run out of various cuts from time to time depending on demand.

Best breakfast in the North East
Super place! The cafe has good food, good coffee and exceptionally lovely staff! And the shop is brilliant- best bacon and sausages I’ve ever had. Smuggling some home to Shetland, although Jane says they will post them up…. I’ll be checking that out for sure!
Outstanding breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection and the bacon butter used in some of the cooking and on the sourdough bread is delicious. Served speedily and with smiles. Loved it!
We’ve been meaning to try this place for ages so the summer holidays was a perfect time to try…don’t know what I was expecting by it was so much better!! Absolutely loved it! We are at 11.30am and didn’t leave till nearly 4pm!! The forest adventure was brilliant – nice to be able to walk around but also have activities for the children to do in between walking so they aren’t bored. Ours loved the zip wires and the cars the most. Not to mention the little trail finding the animal baby names too. We had dinner which was lovely – the lady who served us was so friendly and helpful. Again, well catered for the children as we are outside so the children could jump on the hay bales whilst they waited for dinner instead of sitting about. More time in the forest adventure then ice creams before a look in the farm shop and home. Absolutely loved it – couldn’t recommend it enough. Thank you to everyone – we will definitely be back!
We did our 8 year old son birthday party at the adventure forest at Broom House farm. I definitely recommend booking a party there and in general going there. The place is amazing, the kids lived it. The staff are very helpful and lovely. Last but not least, the food was super. The quality of the food as well.

Had an amazing time at Broom House Farm Forest Adventure. We’ve been twice in the summer holidays and it is well worth the hours drive. The children (& grown ups) loved it especially the sleds and zip lines. It’s really well thought out and kept the children entertained all day.
