February News from the Farm

January was grey, wet and dreary; everywhere is muddy and the River Browney has burst its banks more than once at the bottom end of the farm.   A couple of hours of blue skies at the weekend was a lovely treat and brought smiles back to our faces. Suddenly the days have lengthened, with dawn starting earlier and the evenings staying light until nearly 6pm. Snowdrops  and crocuses are at their best now and buds are growing plump on the horsechesnut tree. The farm is full of birdlife with woodpeckers, long tailed tits and tree sparrows adding to the dawn chorus, led by the resident blackbird choir. See what birds you can spot on your next visit!
