Why not try one of our Half Lamb Packs!

You can't beat good old British Bangers and Mash but why not try the  Hairy Biker's Recipe for Cassoulet from their new series "How to love food and lose weight (!)" using Broom House sausages and gammon, and for a quick brunch recipe have a go at River Cottage Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms, great made with our Cracked Black Pepper sausages.  Up to 20 different varieties of sausage are made in the Butchery every week, Amy was taste testing the Beef with Tomato & Mushroom at the market on Saturday morning and it got fantastic feedback.  The current best selling flavoured sausage is the Pork with Leek, Red Onion & Chive. Print off the voucher at the bottom of this newsletter for a great sausage offer.

Mutton and lamb are selling well, mutton mince and diced mutton
casseroling pieces are always popular shopping basket favourites. Here's a traditional English recipe for  Roast Mutton with Caper Sauce.  We are also selling great value Half and Quarter Lamb Packs at £9.95/kg.  These can be cut and packed ready for the freezer any way you like.

We will continue to be open everyday, in line with the Coffee Shop.  This month's Farmers' Market will be on Thursday 20th September.  Our weekly stand in Durham Market Place from 9am-2.30pm provides a useful stop off for those of you passing through Durham on Saturdays.  Contact us on 0191 371 8839 if you would like any meat or eggs taking down to these markets for you.
Meanwhile we've already had our first Christmas order, some of you are so efficient. We'll have full details about Christmas ordering in our next newsletter.
